DESCRIPTION:St Eloi's Church was rebuilt from fragmentary medieval ruins i
 n the 1920s by the architect John Coates Carter. The building is character
 istic of the architect’s later work in its use of indigenous materials a
 nd identifiable Welsh vernacular motifs. Inside\, the space is dominated b
 y the splendid rood loft\, carved screen and simple pulpit\, all standing 
 against the west face of the medieval screen wall. The church has two ston
 e fonts - one built from a few ancient stones discovered during excavatio.
