About This Event

The earliest description of the present Church is in 1833 but in 1839 it was extensively altered. Restoration was again carried out in 1908, helped by the Mortimer Jones family. The beautiful East Window "The Adoration of the Magi" dates from 1839. High on the West Wall are two ancient windows thought to include considerable Mediaeval fragments. Other interesting items include a stone Memorial tablet with Latin inscription to Ona Ellena Mutton 1643, an ancient oak chest, a 14th century font, interesting 18th century gravestones, a sundial - 1736 and a Bell - 1840. Display of old photos of the Church, village and previous residents. The Church registers will also be available for inspection. On the Saturday evening there will be a Sound Bath meditation "Sounds of the Eternal". Our usual Sunday morning Service will go ahead at 11.15am. In addition there will be an opportunity to go across the road and see the progress that is being made in the Church House garden. This overgrown plot is gradually being cleared to form an orchard and open space for the village both now and in the future. There is also an outdoor altar for special services.
