St. Mary's & St. Nicholas' Church, Beaumaris

St. Mary's & St. Nicholas Church is a Grade 1 listed building on Church Street, Beaumaris. The Church dates from around 1330 and is the second oldest building in the town after Beaumaris Castle. It’s beautiful architecture and many interesting features trace a timeline through Eight Centuries of Christian and social Heritage. Information leaflets are available and our welcomers are often on hand to help you discover stories linked to the Stone Coffin of Princess Joan (Siwan), the Alabaster Tomb, the Rothsay Castle shipping disaster, Tabora the Black, the Misericords, and the many stunning Stain Glass Windows, Wall Plaques and Memorials. Stop to offer a Prayer and light a candle at the Lady Chapel remembering that people have done so for 700 years in this ancient holy place and then step outside to rest for a little while in the beautiful tranquility of our Serenity Garden. The Church Building and Grounds (Serenity Garden & Churchyard) will be open to welcome visitors on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September (free entry). On the Saturday we plan to run history tours throughout the day, bellringing demonstrations and visits to the ringing chamber. Light refreshments will be available together with book/plant stalls etc. On Sunday 13th there will be a special Celebration of Holy Communion at 11am and a Cymanfa Ganu / Hymns of Praise service at 5pm with the church being open to visit during the day.
