About This Event
The Museum of Welsh Textiles, is housed in an old school building, the Museum is dedicated to the history of Welsh Textiles displays displays a collection of Welsh Costume, blankets quilts, and vernacular items reflecting the lives of the weavers and the communities they served. There will be a display of Heritage Crafts. The Heritage Crafts Association have Identified a number of endangered Crafts forming a Red list pinpointing 72 practices most in need of protection. At the Museum we also care about the safeguarding of endangered crafts, many as Welsh crafts having gone out of common practice, The Museum has many original examples from which we are able to learn and to teach crafts like Welsh Frame Quilting identified on the endangered list, Smocking ,and also other examples of Crafts taught at the Museum The Museum is open Sunday 1pm - 5pm, Monday and Tuesday 11am - 5pm throughout September
